    Shannon Airport Turnpad

    This project included Structural Upgrade to Existing Turn Pad Pavement Installation, testing and commissioning of Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPI) and runway threshold/end lights, runway and threshold identification lights (RTILs) and runway threshold wing bars and all associated ducting and drainage services. Extend Existing Turn Pad Pavement to allow a full range of aircraft including Boeing B777 – 300 to perform 180° turn at 06 thresholds. Restricted working environment and restricted working hours (significant night time working). Replacement of various Apron concrete structural slabs with total area 15,000m2; 500mm thick surface (either in tarmac or C50 concrete). Drainage and ducting replacement, high mast lighting.  Excavated concrete and blacktop surfaces recycled for reuse in the Works.  Excavation around and protection of existing services.
