This project involved the extensive realignment and reconstruction of the existing roads and services infrastructure in the port campus, along with new road extensions on Promenade, Terminal and Fire roads. New and diverted services included 220kV electricity, 600mm diameter HP fire mains, HP gas, surface water and foul drainage including pumping stations, various communications services, water mains, public lighting and traffic signals. Other works included site clearance, concrete retaining walls, high security fencing, piled foundations, road signage including large gantry signs, footpaths, road markings and landscaping. A 1.6km Greenway was also constructed as part of the scheme. The project was multi-phased and required the design, auditing and implementation of numerous traffic management plans to cater for the heavily-trafficked (26,000 AADT) port campus, as well as catering for all stakeholders access/ egress and business operations – including various haulage operators, fuel storage companies, port police, customs, port maintenance & services, OPW, Dublin Port Tunnel and others.
