Construction of a full-size 3G UEFA soccer pitch, six five-a-side pitches and a hockey training area, hurling skills wall, all perimeter fencing, and floodlighting. Construction of new campus roads, realigned cycle and pedestrian routes. Internal roads and footpaths, new boundary treatments, and scheme signage. Replacement of the existing bus terminus with two new bus stops and a relocated set-down area adjacent to the Student Centre. Hard and soft landscaping, including new wetlands/SUDs features and bioretention areas, new surface and foul water drainage infrastructure. Removal of existing overground district heating pipes and extensive service diversions.
The project was delivered in carefully planned phases and sub-phases. This ensured continuity of campus activities with minimal disruption. Works were sequenced with multiple site access points, compound relocations, and adaptive hoarding solutions. Maintaining safe, uninterrupted access for all campus users—including students, staff, the general public, buses, cyclists, emergency services, and pedestrians with special requirements—was a critical consideration throughout all stages of the project.
