This project comprised of construction of an 8.5Km road/path/cycle route. Also construction of 1.1km of link road between the existing Kylmore, Killeen, 9th Lock and Outer Relief roads and the new combined road/path/cycle route. New public lighting installation along all routes. 4No. altered junctions, upgraded to signalised. 400m x 900mm diameter SW sewer forming attenuation; 8.5km x 10-way ducts for HV cables; 9.5km x 4-way ducts for CCTV, Public Lighting and Waterways Ireland services. 3No. crossings of canal with on average 20-way duct lines. 400mm water main diversion x 1.1km long. ESB 4-way diversion x 2.6km long. Protection of existing gas mains, water mains and ESB ducts. Public lighting and traffic lighting installations. Hard and soft landscaping. Addastone surface dressing, road markings, traffic signage; various earth retaining systems/retaining walls; street furniture and site structures/artworks; jetty construction. Boundary treatment included natural stone walling and piers, metal fencing and gates and timber fencing, handrailing and safety barriers. Design & implementation of traffic management plans at tie-ins and upgraded junctions. Liaison with local authorities (SDCC & DCC), Waterways Ireland, ESB & Gardai in relation to traffic management, existing utilities and canal crossings. Significant additional works were added in terms of services, and length and construction of link roads and tie-ins.
