Kilwex delivered the civil engineering works associated with the construction of the new Auxiliary Boiler Building at ESB’s Moneypoint Generating Station in County Clare, with a contract value of approximately €2 million.
The project formed part of ongoing infrastructure investment at the strategically important Moneypoint site and was undertaken within an operational energy-generation environment, requiring careful planning, coordination and interface management throughout the construction programme.
Kilwex constructed the Auxiliary Boiler Building and facilitated the associated fit-out of plant and infrastructure. The works required close coordination with ESB, specialist contractors and the wider project team to ensure the building works, plant installation and associated infrastructure were successfully integrated with ongoing site operations.
Particular emphasis was placed on maintaining stringent health, safety, environmental and quality standards within the live generating station environment. Construction activities were carefully planned and sequenced to manage interfaces with existing infrastructure, site traffic, operational areas and other contractors working across the facility.
The project demonstrates Kilwex’s continued capability in the delivery of complex civil engineering and building works within major energy and utility environments, where programme coordination, operational interfaces and rigorous safety and quality management are critical to successful project delivery.
