We are delighted to congratulate Phil McKenna, Excavator Operator with Kilwex, who was recently recognised through the daa Infrastructure Recognition Programme for his outstanding contribution to health, safety and environmental performance on our projects at Dublin Airport.
The daa Infrastructure Recognition Programme recognises individuals and contractors who consistently demonstrate positive HSE behaviours that go beyond day-to-day safe working practices and minimum compliance requirements. The programme aims to reinforce good behaviours, promote accountability and support daa’s goal of eliminating harm across its Infrastructure projects.
Phil was nominated for consistently going above and beyond when it comes to safety.
Working as an excavator operator within the live and highly safety-sensitive environment of Dublin Airport, Phil has safely delivered excavation works in areas containing extensive underground services and other significant constraints.
He consistently brings a positive and safety-conscious approach to his work and actively engages with safety processes, including contributing to work planning, SPAs and permits, while ensuring plant inspections are completed to a high standard.
Above all, Phil is a real team player who supports his colleagues and helps ensure that every task is completed safely and to the right standard.
