The project comprised the demolition and removal of circa 1,200m2 of concrete walkway canopy (constructed in the late 1960’s), of existing hardscaping, and demolition and removal of existing accesses to various buildings.
New works: installation of new surface water drainage, water mains and ducted services. Reconfiguration and reinstatement of hardscaping with a new buff macadam finish, natural stone kerbing and paving, new feature walling, pedestrian ramps, steps and soft landscape works. New public lighting via overhead, uplighters, feature recessed lights in various structures.
The project also involved pedestrian and traffic management in one of the busiest thoroughfares of the university campus. A key component of the project was the safe and progressive movement of students, staff and visitors through/ alongside the site to agreed phasing, while progressing the works.
